Sync Passwords Across Computers
It’s like this: you change a password to a Web Replay login or macro or Safe Note etc. on one computer, you can sync it in seconds on another, using a files sync provider like DROPBOX, Live Mesh or Folder Share.
You have to follow the 3 steps below:
1. Install DROPBOX (click on the link to install it and create an account) or a files sync provider of your choice.
2. Create a new folder inside DROPBOX (open your DROPBOX by double-clicking the system tray icon, next to the clock, and create a new folder, with a suggestive name like – Web Replay sync)
3. Go to Web Replay Management Studio and click Desktop Computers (see the picture below)
4. Click Choose button to show Web Replay the path to this newly created folder in DROPBOX.
You’ll find it in My Documents folder.
From now on Web Replay will sync all the changes you make in its database on different computers (changing a password, saving a new login to a web site, bookmarking another, creating a new web macro etc.) in that DROPBOX folder.
NOTE1: Syncing databases across computers is made by following the steps described above, once, on each computer you want to sync Web Replay database. Meaning that you have to install DROPBOX on all computers and choose the sync folder that you created beforehand.
NOTE 2: If you make changes to your databases, on signing out Web Replay you’ll see DROPBOX system tray icon working and it means that it is saving the changes you made in your database. Wait a few seconds until it stops before shutting down the computer.
NOTE 3: Once your database gets synchronized Web Replay will pick it up at signing in to another computer.
Another one… hopefully it is the last: if Web Replay does not prompt you to sync the changes on signing in then you should try once in a while to manually sync databases: 1. Open Management Studio 2. Click Desktop Computers 3. Click Sync now button
Is it safe to use a files sync provider?
Web Replay database is protected by the Master Password you set beforehand. The Master Password encrypts your database so that no one can access it but you.
